Abstract
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of teachers’ perspectives on tolerance education. Our literature review is an attempt to reveal the current state of the art regarding studies and research on teachers and prospective teachers’ perspectives on the concept of tolerance, pedagogical approaches to tolerance and the goals of tolerance education. We shall also try to highlight the degree of teachers’ awareness of the need for a tolerance education and the challenges of implementing it in today’s mainstream schools.
