THE TEACHER AND THE BIROCRATIZATION OF SOCIETY

Abstract

In the name of rationalization and efficiency, the society – with its institutions and organisations- is going to birocratize. The trend of increasing the number and the importance of rules, methodologies and procedures proves the stressing and encouraging of impersonal relationships instead of the personal ones. As a consequence there shows up the problem of the report between the impersonal and personal interactions in the school institution – among teachers – on one hand and among teachers and pupils – on the other hand. Confronting with this tendency the educator’s art is the one that can help him find the best balance between the contexts based on rules, methodologies and procedures and those based on empathy, love and compasion.

Key words: birocracy, empathy, impersonal relation, personal relation, love, compasion, school institution, philosophy of interaid
